Chuan-Khiang Soh
Founder and Academic Director
Ms. Soh, Founder and Academic Director of Success Pathway, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering from New York University; while her Master of Business Administration (MBA) is from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Proficient in both Chinese and English, Ms. Soh came to the United States to study when she was 17 years old. As a result of Ms. Soh’s experience, she personally understands the psychological impact of the study abroad experience on students. Furthermore, Ms. Soh is a mother of 2 children and is not only able to assist students in adjusting to new challenges, but also has more than 10 years of experience in academic guidance experience. Ms. Soh is well versed in the application process of American colleges and universities, paying close attention to details, helping students choose the "best fit" school that suits them in the college or university application process. This process includes guiding students in extracurricular activities, paying attention to student achievement, providing long- and short-term learning goals, and applying for scholarships. Students who have been instructed by Ms. Soh have been admitted to enter universities, such as Brown University, Tufts University, New York University, University of Connecticut, Boston University and many other popular schools, some with privately funded scholarships awarded ranging from US $500 to $20,000.
Yingying Cai
Co-Founder and Recruitment Director (China)
Ms. Cai, Co-Founder and Recruitment Director of Success Pathway, graduated from Northeastern University in China with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Technology. Ms. Cai has worked in a number of international overseas study institutions and has eight years of experience in study abroad. She specializes in pre-academic planning, online language test training, extracurricular activities, and academic improvement. Ms. Cai and Ms. Soh have been friends for many years. Together, they have guided students who have earned admissions to universities, such as Brown University, Tufts University, New York University, University of Connecticut, Boston University and many other selective institutions.
Carissa Mastroianni
Operations Manager
Ms. Mastroianni, Operations Manager of Success Pathway, has a Bachelor degree in Psychology from Central Connecticut State University and a Master of Education degree from Post University. She worked in colleges for four years where she became familiar with the college/university admissions process. Ms. Mastroianni was also The Dean of Student Life for a local high school where she lived with her students from China for one year. In this capacity, she managed a dormitory and developed and maintained student policies and procedures. She also traveled to many countries including Asia, The Middle East and Europe and has a vast knowledge of working with international students. Ms. Mastroianni is currently a part time college instructor and teaches a "First Year Experience" class. With her dynamic background, Ms. Mastroianni can help students with grammar, time management, essay writing and study skills. She is also available to counsel students about matters beyond academics.
Nancy Arseneault
College Counselor, Essay Specialist
Ms. Arseneault, College Counselor & Essay Specialist at Success Pathway, earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology & certification in Elementary Education at William Smith College in Geneva, NY. She has worked in the education field for over 20 years, first as a field editor for Prentice Hall Publishing and most recently as the Center Director at C2 Education in Westport, CT. Ms. Arseneault has counseled over 300 students in college admissions and essay writing. She traveled to Dubai to open multiple new learning centers for C2 Education and gained additional experience working with international students and their families. Ms. Arseneault has two sons, one who served in the United State’s Navy as a nuclear engineer and her other son who just graduated from UCLA with a Master’s degree in Urban Planning.
Ruth Preston
Senior Editor
Ms. Preston, Senior Editor of Success Pathway, has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Education from William Smith College. She worked in college admissions for over 30 years visiting U.S. high schools, conducting interviews and evaluating applications. As an Admissions Officer, Ms. Preston has participated in nearly 100 admissions presentations and interviewed thousands of students and organized more than 30 enrollment-related activities annually. Ms. Preston assists students during the applicant process to colleges or universities, coaching them in interview skills, but is also proficient in creative writing. She perfects your student's essay writing process using descriptive language and appropriate sentence structure to achieve high-level expression. Every year, students ask Ms. Preston for assistance in essay editing and preparation for interviews. Of note, two out of three of her children have advanced graduate degrees and work as accomplished young professional leaders in either professional sports management, high tech advertising or education.
Aubrey Wen
Academic Assistant
Mr. Wen, Academic Assistant of Success Pathway, received his Bachelor and Master of Science in Biology and Psychology from Tufts University. He has an excellent academic record and has received many academic scholarships. Mr. Wen recently graduated from Tufts and was a student with Success Pathway. He has been a tutor since he was in high school and continued through his college years. Because he majored in psychology, Mr. Wen not only understands the student's performance, but also helps with weaker subjects. As a new grad, Mr. Wen can better understand the students' thoughts and help them to make psychological and academic breakthroughs. In addition, he was a Residential Assistant and a rugby player at Tufts University. Mr. Wen has excellent coordination and organizational management skills, which he can share and help students to adapt to university life.
Al Tan
College Tour Manager
Mr. Tan, Success Pathway College Tour Manager, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Cleveland State University. He also has a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from Ohio State University. He is proficient in English, Chinese, Cantonese, Hokkein, and Hainanese. In 2012, Mr. Tan assisted and supported his son in the college application process and he especially enjoyed the college tour piece of the college application process. Since then, Mr. Tan has been fortunate to help families from the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong and other countries to arrange one-on-one College Tour plans and arrangements. Success Pathway's College Tour program, under the leadership of Mr. Tan, focuses on the specific needs of each family, tailoring a truly individual and personalized College Tour for the student and their family.
Alice Mendoza
Manager (Southeast Asia)
Ms. Mendoza, Manager in Southeast Asia, has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in the Humanities from Wesleyan College in Georgia, and a Master of Arts degree in Children’s Literature from the University of Roehampton in London. Her post-graduate work focused on Art History at the Open University located in the United Kingdom. Ms. Mendoza has over 20 years experience as a teacher of English Literature, History and Social Studies as well as 10 years of teaching Art History in Singapore. As a teacher, Ms. Mendoza has planned, produced and implemented curriculum, along with teaching materials for students ranging in ages from toddler (age 3) to late teens (age 17). Currently, she is a Reading Specialist and English Teacher at a premier English Enrichment Center in Singapore. Ms. Mendoza assists students located in Southeast Asia with the preliminary college application process including “how to” prepare for ACT, SAT or TOEFL testing, she also serves as a liaison to the U.S. Team.
Keli Axelrod
College Tour Leader
Ms. Axelrod, College Tour Leader, has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Tourism Management from Sanya University in China and a National Tour Guide Certificate. Fluent in both Chinese and English, Ms. Axelrod is an accomplished tour guide and teaching assistant with American agency and Chinese English School experience. Ms. Axelrod is most familiar with a range of cultures and city locations including China and the U.S. While working with the American agency, she also acquired extensive knowledge of both high schools and colleges or universities based in the U.S. Because Ms. Axelrod is fluent in Chinese, she became an excellent communicator, translating American high school information for Chinese parents so that they could stay abreast of their student’s academic and extra-curricular progress. This required that she not only build relationships with school officials by conducting on site visits, but she also assisted students with the acclimation or transition process from China to the U.S. In addition, she facilitated monthly student outings and managed social media posts associated with the activity to share with agencies and parents in China. On the other hand, while working as a Teaching Assistant in China, Ms. Axelrod prepared student progress reports and assisted school staff/teachers with development of various learning environments conducive to student academic success. Using her experiences with an American agency and Chinese English School, Ms. Axelrod is excited about this opportunity to assist students and their families with the college or university search process by leading U.S.-based tours!
