International students must maximize their potential during high school years in order to submit an outstanding college application. This process can be laborious and requires individual and personalized attention from a trained academic professional. Success Pathway's U.S. team will guide your student every step of the way.
First Consultation
Whether face-to-face or through a web video platform, we will conduct a first consultation to get to know your student’s personality. We will ask the right questions to determine their educational goals and the type of schools that will meet that objective. We will discuss the many options Success Pathway can provide to help reach that goal of being accepted at a U.S. college or university.
Initial-Stage Application Process
As a result of the educational goals discussed in the first consultation, Success Pathway will begin to develop a comprehensive academic plan to immediately help your student improve their grade point average (GPA) and provide tips on how to get the most out of their high school education. These activities will best prepare your student to develop an outstanding college application in the future. At this stage, a Success Pathway consultant will be assigned and can provide the following services:
Mid-Stage Application Process
During this stage, your student and consultant will perform more in-depth activities to best prepare him/her for the actual submission of the college application.
Final Stage Application Process
After applications are submitted and once admission to college or university is offered, your Success Pathway consultant will guide your student through this exciting time on a step-by-step basis as follows:
- Identify and discuss your student’s unique strengths, as well as possible areas needing growth
- Discuss various fields of study to help your student think about their major
- Provide a High School Action Plan to help your student make the best use of opportunities available in secondary school
- Develop list of possible target colleges and universities that may be a good fit for your student
- Develop detailed timetable of recommended activities to build content for resume, as well as College/University Admissions and Application Counseling
- Recommend areas of Personal Tutoring or Online Tutoring on current subjects
- Recommend Pre-Summer College Programs
- Provide authentic English writing exercises to prepare for essay preparation
- Discuss and recommend activities to improve scores on standardized testing (SAT, TOEFL, ACT, etc.)
- Determine field of study and provide college/university selection advice
- Plan college/university visits and tours through Success Pathway Campus Visits and Tours
- Finalize list of schools for application submission
- Provide writing guidance for Essay(s), Personal Statement and Resume
- Provide tips for obtaining great Recommendation Letters
- Assist with submission of college/university application, including transcripts, and other required documents
- Assist your student with managing deadlines
- Communicate with college/university Admissions Officers
- Coach your student on college interview techniques
- Guide your student in analysis of admission decisions
- Discuss suitability of school for your student’s chosen major, school location, type of institution, etc.
- Instruct your student on supplementary materials required by institution
- Provide your student with information on possible Scholarship and Financial Aid Advice
- Assist your student during the matriculation process including course selection, orientation and housing options
- Celebrate! Your student is ready to begin his collegiate career!
